Youth Programs and Ministry - 7th-8th Grade

Mount Olivet Church offers a variety of programs for children and youth of all ages.  If you have questions regarding youth ministry, please contact a member of the youth ministry team or call the church office at 612.926.7651 for additional information regarding programs at either of our campus locations.

Confirmation

Confirmation at Mount Olivet is a two plus year program beginning  the summer before 7th grade and concluding with a service of Confirmation September of 9th grade. The Confirmation program helps 7th and 8th graders learn more about the Bible, Lutheranism, faith and God while building relationships with their peers, Pastors and Church. During these very important years, students are instructed weekly by a Confirmation small group leader, the Confirmation Director and Pastors. Contact Angie St.Dennis (MPLS) or Zach Spirov (WEST) for more information.

Junior High Alive

Junior High Alive is a unique program for 7th and 8th graders to participate in fun and fellowship. JHA activities include retreats, service opportunities, peer ministry and adopt-a-grandparent.  These often coordinate with Confirmation or choir activities.

Adopt-A-Grandparent

This program is a fun way to develop responsibility and caring for others by pairing 7th & 8th graders with elderly residents of Mount Olivet Home and Mount Olivet Careview Home.
The program runs October through April and meets on 2 Mondays of each month.  (4:45-7PM)
Contact Geoff Arenson with questions or to sign up

Sunday Serve                                         Sunday Serve is a program for both 7th and 8th graders to learn about different organizations within their communities through hands-on service projects. Not only is this a great way for participants to get service hours and spend time with one another, but they are also able to learn about some of the problems and needs of various populations around them. Projects occur once a month and times and dates will vary depending on campus. Contact:  Tierra Davis (Mpls) 612-767-2211  or Kate Belschner (West)  952-767-1502
