Flutist Julie Johnson performs at numerous venues throughout the Twin Cities and freelances with many orchestras, chamber groups, blues bands, and jazz groups. A finalist for the McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians and a winner of grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board, the American Composers Forum, the Lanesboro Arts Center, the Jerome Foundation, Springboard for the Arts, MacPhail Center for Music, MRAC, and a Banff Centre residency, she plays in many styles, working to bring both the flute and her audiences to music they haven’t been in contact with before. In addition to her active performing schedule, Julie teaches at the Mount Olivet School of Music.

Dramatic bass-baritone Brian Haase studied music at Northwestern College in Minneapolis and pursued his Master's Degree in Opera Performance at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he performed various lead roles, including the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni. He has performed several times with the Minnesota Opera, including a supporting role in the Pulitzer Prize winning opera, "Silent Night", and has been a featured oratorio soloist around the United States and Europe.

Mount Olivet's Community Outreach Ministry offers a variety of programs and services, "Extending Hearts, Hands and Voices for Christ."

Angel Gifts
Donating, assembling and delivering food, personal items, and gifts on Palm Sunday to homebound members and families in the inner-city.

Community Emergency Service
Assisting this agency in serving the needs of the inner-city poor: emergency food and housing, spiritual, family and employment counseling.

The Dignity Center
The Dignity Center provides support, opportunity and resources for people in transition as they regain stability in their lives and move towards self-sufficiency.

Hunger Task Force
Educating the congregation on world hunger; working with Community Emergency Service preparing and serving dinners. Sponsors three food drives throughout the year.

Love INC
Meet needs of people in eastern Carver County through food and clothing collection and distribution, and other basic services of support.

Meals Via Wheels
Delivering hot noon meals to elderly and disabled residents of southwest Minneapolis.

On-Call Team
Collecting, sorting, and distributing clothing, food, or furniture to people in need in the metro area.

Sheridan Story Mount Olivet and Shir Tikvah partner with The Sheridan Story to provide weekend "backpack" meals to students at Green Central Elementary School who are living in "food insecurity".  Volunteer to help every Friday  to distribute food bags to children's lockers.  Sign up for as many Fridays as you can during the school year, 1-1/2 hour commitment.  

Simpson Housing Dinners
Volunteers will meet at Simpson Housing Services, located at 2740 1st Ave S in Minneapolis at 5:30pm. They prepare, serve, and clean up after the evening meal, served to approximately 150 residents of this homeless shelter. The evening usually ends around 8 or 8:30pm

VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People)
Volunteer in food pantry, drive VEAP minivan for appointments; serves south Minneapolis, Richfield, Bloomington and Edina.
