From Brokenness to Belonging
Though Lent’s purpose is to strengthen trust in God’s grace and our relationships with one another, we often mistake it for an exercise in personal piety. Rather than becoming another checklist to prove whether we gave something up perfectly, prayed the right way or contributed enough, Lent is meant to be a time of honesty with God, ourselves and one another. Join Pastor Dixon, Pastor Freeman and Pastor Bork for our Day Lenten Journey at the MOCRC, exploring the truth of Lent – leading us from our honest confession of sin to God’s life-giving promise of grace.
Day Lenten Journey is one of our annual day retreats. It provides space to gather with familiar and new friends and enter the season of Lent together through worship, learning, and conversation in a place of inspiring beauty. Begin the day with fresh pastries, enjoy a delicious lunch provided by our professional chefs, and end with communion. Led by Mount Olivet pastors and Retreat Center staff.
