This three-week Challenge is designed to help us become more aware of racial inequality and gain confidence in ways to promote greater equity. Created by Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr., Debby Irving, and Dr. Marguerite Penick-Parks, the Challenge offers numerous resources to heighten your inter-cultural awareness and competence. *During the Challenge, you will:
- Receive a daily email with a devotion from one of your Mount Olivet pastors, including a scripture centered on God’s dream for equity for all. All of your pastors will be walking alongside you on this Challenge.
- Choose one daily activity from these websites to further your understanding (reminder sent in the daily email):
On both of these websites, there are suggestions for readings, podcasts, videos, observations, and ways to form and deepen community connections in the following categories: Read, Listen, Watch, Notice, Connect, Engage, Act, Reflect, and Stay Inspired. Use the tracking chart found on the website to stay on course.
- If you wish, you can share and process your thoughts, feelings, and experiences via a Google form that will be sent with the daily email. Katie Stevenson will compile the sharable suggestions and send to all participants at least once a week.
- If you wish, Zoom Discussions with Pastor Ruud will be scheduled during the Challenge. Emails will be sent for participants to opt-in.
*All Challenge information will be sent to all registered participants again just prior to August 10.
