Join us Wednesday, June 28 at the Conference & Retreat Center for worship of our Creator God, led by Senior Pastor David Lose, with special music by Justin Staebell. Enjoy an outstanding dinner featuring Grilled Herb Marinated Flat Iron Steak, Twice-Baked Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables and Blueberry Cobbler with Whipped Cream. Naturalist Dan Kahl's nature class that evening will focus on Extreme Perennials - perennials that last. Flutist Julie Johnson performs at numerous venues throughout the Twin Cities and freelances with many orchestras, chamber groups, blues bands, and jazz groups. A finalist for the McKnight Fellowship for Performing Musicians and a winner of grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board, the American Composers Forum, the Lanesboro Arts Center, the Jerome Foundation, Springboard for the Arts, MacPhail Center for Music, MRAC, and a Banff Centre residency, she plays in many styles, working to bring both the flute and her audiences to music they haven’t been in contact with before. In addition to her active performing schedule, Julie teaches at the Mount Olivet School of Music.

Join us Tuesday, July 4 at noon at the Conference & Retreat Center for worship of our Creator God and celebration of our country's indepencence, led by Pastor Kurt Kalland. Worship will include a rousing patriotic singspiration. Our festive 4th of July barbecue will include Burgers and Brats on the grill, Baked Beans, Corn on the Cob, Potato Salad, Minted Watermelon Salad and Ice Cream Sundaes. Dramatic bass-baritone Brian Haase studied music at Northwestern College in Minneapolis and pursued his Master's Degree in Opera Performance at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he performed various lead roles, including the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni. He has performed several times with the Minnesota Opera, including a supporting role in the Pulitzer Prize winning opera, "Silent Night", and has been a featured oratorio soloist around the United States and Europe.
