Summer(2).jpg

It’s that time of year again when we are getting ready for summer! King’s Kids Camp and Camp Summer of Service (S.O.S.) are opportunities for your children, and I can’t think of a better way for them to spend their summer! This summer we will be learning more about the Bible and the universe with our theme of “Stars.”

King’s Kids Camp is a camp that impacted my faith as a child.  I remember my mom signing me up for a session at the Retreat Center before she sent me to Cathedral of the Pines to make sure that I would enjoy my time and make some friends before I spent a full week away from home.

I remember the excitement I felt as I got on the bus with a group of kids my age, the anticipation that occurred when I heard about all of the fun activities I would be doing, and the love that filled me every day when I got back on the bus to go back home. Back then I didn’t realize what this love was, but now I see that it was the most important kind of love. It was the love that one can feel when they are in God’s presence.

Spending time at the Retreat Center allows your children to get to know their church friends, learn more about God, spend time outdoors, and experience what it means to live a life of service and faith. Something powerful happens when you get a group of kids together to learn more about God and grow in their faith … and I cannot wait to see what your children discover about themselves and about God this summer at the Retreat Center!
