Reasons to Celebrate

May is a time of celebration! It is at this time of year that people host graduation parties and other celebrations. We have many reasons to celebrate at Mount Olivet. As I reflect on the last year here are some of the things that have happened: a capital campaign was launched and has gotten off to a very successful start, a beautiful new entryway has been completed at our Minneapolis campus, an elevator added and an industrial-grade kitchen created. We celebrated the ministry of Pastor Craig Johnson and you have warmly welcomed me into the Mount Olivet community. We also have more than a thousand people Reading through the Bible.

After dozens of Fireside chats, I can tell you that members of Mount Olivet love their church. They love what God has done through the years, what God is doing today, and look forward to the future in faith.  This month we will celebrate what God has done and is doing at Mount Olivet.

On May 11, we will hold an open house at our Minneapolis Campus from 5pm to 7pm to celebrate the completion of Phase I of the capital campaign. People will be on hand to answer questions about the project,
there will be tours of the new kitchen, and a dedication service at 6pm.
On May 17, we will celebrate our graduating seniors with a baccalaureate breakfast.
On May 31, we will hold our annual Volunteer Sunday celebration to thank all our volunteers who have given so generously of their time and talents throughout the year. And throughout the month we will gather together to celebrate some of the faithful leaders in our community at men’s and women’s fellowship
events.
What we can most celebrate in this month of May (and every day), is that Mount Olivet is truly a community of faith that loves God, loves people, “looks upward, travels onward,” and is not afraid. We have much to be thankful for, and it is time to celebrate!
