 Musical Guest: Collegiate Chorale of Luther College

April 19, Minneapolis Campus. The choir features 100 mixed voices of select junior and senior singers performing sacred choral works of a variety of periods and styles. Collegiate Chorale also sings at daily chapel services and Sunday worship services on campus, takes part in the college’s annual Christmas at Luther celebration, and tours annually. In recent years, the Collegiate Chorale has performed in concert with the American Symphony Orchestra at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, New York City, and with the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) and La Crosse (Wisconsin) symphony orchestras. The choir recently appeared in concert with The Philadelphia Brass, premiering a newly-commissioned work, The Creation of the World, by renowned American composer Daniel Pinkham. The Collegiate Chorale is under the direction of DR. ANDREW LAST. Recordings will be available for purchase in the narthex.

Candlelight Beginners  Yoga

Moving from Anxiety to Optimal Wellness

Anxiety is one of the most common mental health issues in America, affecting 18% of adults and nearly 10% of adolescents. Join us for an interactive workshop, and hear from keynote speaker L. READ SULIK, MD, Chief Integration Officer at PrairieCare –A UofM Medical School Affiliate.  This is an interactive workshop that includes the Youth Advisory Panel from PACER Center. Participants will come to understand the Fight, Flight, and Freeze response and how chronic stress, trauma, and anxiety can lead to systemic health as well as severe cognitive, emotional, and behavioral problems. Dr. Sulik’s teaching through stories and examples will help participants understand how individuals with anxiety are so easily misinterpreted, misunderstood, and misdiagnosed. Dr. Sulik will review approaches to prepare an individual to change the conditioned patterns that often develop as a result of chronic anxiety and will introduce a framework for a personal health and wellness transformation he uses in his work with patients.
